Images of Distant Worlds is a study of the furthermost places in our universe and the light that is emitted from there. Andromeda, our closest neighboring galaxy, is 2 537 000 light years away which means that while looking at it we are actually looking far into the past. And all that we see happened a long time ago. The work is inspired by the old light that reaches us from deep space. Images of Distant Worlds consists of 12 images, one for each day of the festivities of VÄS 30 years celebration. All images are painted by hand on 18cm x 18cm pieces of glass and the images are then projected onto the Kattilahalli façade, welcoming all the visitors into the space.
