Pro Artibus Residency Korpoström May-Oct 2025

3.5.2025 Saturday
I have moved to Korpoström in the Finnish Archipelago for a six month residency provided by the Pro Artibus Foundation. I’m so happy to be here and have gotten the opportunity! During my stay I will be working on a few new projects and continue my work with some others, more about those later. I will update on my process, observations and thoughts here more or less regularly. Often I find that while collecting materials and preparing for exhibitions and larger bodies of work there is a lot of material that will never be displayed or published publicly, this blog – or work journal is one place for me to show parts of the making of, and reflect on the themes, ideas and thoughts that come and go during my time here in the archipelago.

I have been here in Korpoström for a little bit over 2 weeks now, and the studio space starts slowly feel like home. I’ve set up most of my things, I’ve taken walks in the vicinity and explored the small gifts of spring blooming up everywhere. The sea is still cold and I’ve yet to dip my toes. Yesterday I filmed some great material at sunset, a small school of fish with their shimmering sides under a calm and dark surface of the water.
